This new NASA
budget is causing great rejoicing and also great gnashing of teeth and
wailing. Maybe that's what makes this whole process so interesting and
compelling. Yet, there's a lot of confusion over what this all means.
So I'm going to try and articulate what the actual vision might be for this new
budget, and what it means for NASA, Americans, and for all of us as a
space fairing civilization.
I think I can state
it quite simply, so here’s the Vision:
To really get the point
across, maybe the message has to be reduced to something that will fit on a
bumper sticker. So here are my
suggestions:
1. Going from Deep Sh*t to Deep Space
2. Not
About to be Shafted Again
3. Space is a Noun, not an Adjective
4. NASA:
Too Legit to Quit
5. When you find yourself in a gravity well,
stop digging
6. Let the invisible hand work, not just the
finger
8: Get On, Sit Up, Shut Down, Hang In
9. Up, Ours
10. Keep on Rocket in the Free World
11. ETO is Good to Go, How ‘bout we Go some Mo’
12. Commercial Space: Taking the RATION out of INSPIRATION
Maybe you’ll be inspired to produce some more of your own. After all, it really is about the vision thing.
Space, it's half past time to go and time to go again.

Like #1 the best, #5 next despite the "dwarven" blood in me (we tend to dig all kinds of tunnels and subsurface structures in my country, in both meanings of the word --too many mountains not to) ^_^

H H,
I struggled with #5, one could have just as well said, "when you find your self in a gravity well, START digging", but then the meaning started becoming more obscure.
